2019 was a monumental year for Our Wave as we officially launched our platform dedicated to empowering survivors of sexual harm, domestic violence, and childhood abuse. We welcomed our very first survivor stories, creating a ripple of shared experiences and validation. These early voices of courage set the foundation for an emerging community that believes in healing through understanding and support. The resounding reactions from fellow survivors and allies underscored the urgency and impact of Our Wave’s mission. Looking back, these milestones serve as a testament to the strength and resilience of survivors everywhere.

At Our Wave, we know that healing is rarely a solitary journey, and our community strives to ensure that no survivor ever feels alone. By connecting survivors with empathetic allies, we create a safe environment where everyone can find validation and hope. This sense of shared support and solidarity plays a vital role in helping survivors reclaim their voices and foster lasting resilience.

Content views in 2019
We define a view as a meaningful period in which a user reads or engages with content on our platform, including survivor stories, questions, and resources.
Story reactions all time2
Story reactions in 2019
Story reactions are pre-written messages of support that Our Wave users can send anonymously to survivors who share their story. This allows the community to show support while protecting a safe space for survivors.
Sharing personal stories is a powerful act of courage and catharsis. On the Our Wave platform, survivors can safely open up about their experiences, knowing they will be met with compassion and understanding. These stories not only help individuals process trauma but also demonstrate how deeply connected and universal the healing journey can be.
