Clinical Advisor

Gemma McFarland is a public health and wellness consultant with over a decade of experience in domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, community engagement, behavioral health, and organizational wellbeing. She holds a Master of Public Health and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Northeastern University, where her academic work examined the public health and sociological dimensions of gender-based violence. Her consulting practice focuses on strengthening trauma-informed systems and processes through program development, implementation, and evaluation; qualitative research; training design; identifying barriers to care and support; and cross-sector collaboration. She has worked across human services, higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, community-based, and corporate settings, including direct-service roles supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Gemma brings a survivor-centered and systems-level lens to her advisory work with Our Wave. She is committed to helping organizations build accessible and responsive pathways to resources for survivors and communities impacted by violence.
