Clinical Advisor

Dr. Carri Polick is the founder of ViaNova Healthcare Consulting and Research Firm, a Senior Consultant in Health Research and Strategy with Team DWC, and a nurse scientist with more than 15 years of experience advancing health, education, and community systems. She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan and completed postdoctoral training through the National Clinician Scholars Program at Duke University and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Polick's research primarily focuses on understanding how childhood and cumulative life stressors shape biopsychosocial health, from the neuroimmune response to resilience, recovery, and long-term well-being. Her work integrates trauma-informed research, community-engaged approaches, and health policy to translate evidence into meaningful, sustainable change. She has authored more than 30 publications and is passionate about improving outcomes across diverse populations spanning students, older adults, and individuals living with multiple sclerosis, serious mental illness, and substance use disorders. Drawing on a unique combination of clinical, research, and industry experiences, Dr. Polick collaborates with healthcare systems, government agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations to strengthen systems while keeping the needs of individuals at the center of decision-making. Her work bridges discovery science and systems change, helping organizations translate evidence into trauma-informed policies, programs, and practices that improve individual and population health.
